Hannah Tapling

CLINICAL THERAPIST

National Certified Counselor

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

under supervision of Dr. Jenifer Balch

Hannah is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive space where clients feel genuinely listened to, accepted, and valued. She believes the counseling relationship is a collaborative process, walking alongside individuals and families as they work toward meaningful growth and lasting change. Hannah offers unconditional acceptance for each person and their unique story, fostering a space where clients feel safe to explore, reflect, and take steps toward change.

Hannah works with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups. She gained clinical experience at the SMU Center for Family Counseling, where she worked with individuals across the lifespan, and at STEPS with Horses, where she supported veterans and their families. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, peer and relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Hannah earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University, with a minor in Sports Management and a certificate in Applied Behavioral Health. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Counseling at Southern Methodist University. Her academic and clinical training built a strong foundation in child development and gave her valuable experience working with diverse populations across all stages of life.

Through her graduate work, Hannah developed a counseling style that balances warmth and encouragement with gentle challenges that help clients reach their goals. Hannah has specialized training in Play Therapy, Activity Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Equine-Assisted Counseling. Drawing from these approaches, Hannah meets clients where they are—emotionally, developmentally, and relationally—to support both personal growth and healthier environments.

At the core of Hannah’s work is the belief that therapy is a partnership built on trust, compassion, and collaboration. She strives to empower clients to discover their strengths, build effective coping skills, and create a life rooted  resilience, authenticity, and connection.
